Camping Trip 2017 - Gold Beach

For this leg of our trip, Dave scheduled us a nice hotel to stay in for two nights. This way we could get good showers and catch up on laundry =).

We headed south to Gold Beach, Oregon.

Lovely view from our balcony...

This hotel portion of our trip came at the perfect time, as Brother fell ill during our drive to Gold Beach. Poor kid had a fever and even threw up once during our drive! I felt SO bad for him!
I loved having a place to give him a nice warm bath and then a comfy bed to crash in as he recovered.
And CRASH he did...

The hotel also had a laundry room, so I was able to get all our camping clothes and such washed and clean, which felt great.

While we were in town, we visited one of David's favorite breakfast spots...

And took the kids to the beach to enjoy the gorgeous scenery...

David in his original habitat ;).

It may have been summer time, but it's pretty much always windy on the Oregon coast =)

Lucky for us the wind was minor, and we killed a lot of time just hanging out on the beach one of our days.

Thankfully, Brother was back to feeling like himself pretty quickly...

Gold Beach is not large  but has some fun places to play. The kids both loved this park, and we killed a lot of time playing here one of our days...

Even though our kids were only semi - interested in all we/Dave had to show them about where he'd been before (just keeping it real!), it was still special for him to be able to do so...

We all enjoyed the luxury of a hotel after several nights of camping. It was great to have soft beds, hot showers, TV to watch and a swimming pool to play in.

But, after two nights there, we were ready for more camping ;)

Camping Trip 2017 - Honeyman State Park

On our way outta Beverly Beach and on to stop number two!

A short while into our drive to Honeyman State Park...

David found us the BEST SITE IN ALL OF HONEYMAN STATE PARK. It was HUGE and so secluded.
We wasted zero time getting camp set up and settling in...

It had this little pathway to a clearing behind the site that the twins declared their "hideout"...

It just kept on going...

These two were pretty stoked to be calling this home for the next few days!

We loved having such a big camping site all to ourselves! We played frisbee and catch a lot during our stay there...

We went for walks, and this boy swished around with a stick/imaginary light saber =)…

The twins loved having their hideout...

Dave and I loved the downtime to read, chat, or just straight chill...

little adventure buddies...

As it's been nearly a year and a half since this trip actually took place, it's crazy for me to look back at these pictures and see how much our kids have grown since this time. They seem so little here still!!  I'm so grateful we took this trip, and spent this time together making memories...

We spent one afternoon walking to the playground and playing for a bit...

and of course we played on the sand dunes!

And just like the camping trips here before, we made sure we rented a pedal boat to take out for a spin...

...annnnddd because I'm a sappy sentimentalist, here are those same kids on the same lake during our previous camping trips...

(2014)

(2015)

Gah. Time goes by so quickly!

We were thankful for great weather to soak up this gorgeous scenery.

The kids and Dave each took turns jumping off the boat and swimming for a bit.
 I did not =).

Honeyman is such a beautiful place to camp! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there =).

Before we knew it, it was time to tear down camp again...

We played a little bit of baseball at the empty site before we loaded up in the van again....

with that, we were off to destination #3!
