Because it's funny...

I can't be the only one who does it.

Truth.

For reals, though.

Cars, Love, and Memes: Oh my gosh, I got this!
 AHHHHH!
SHE DIED DOING WHAT SHE LOVED
 BRINGING 257 GROCERY BAGS INTO

 Hedger Humor
I was bad at this even when I could pull my van right up to the back door of my house back in Portland...I'm terrible about it now that we live on the 7th floor of an apartment building!
Make more than one trip?!? What a waste of time!

Happy weekend, all!

Lately...

We had the neighbor kids over to play one afternoon...

The girls all colored...

...while the boys played PlayStation...

We've been swimming at our pool...

...and sunning...

We had our last swimming meet up with our Homeschool Co-op peeps...

We met some school friends at a park one evening...

We played with our super cool Usborne books while waiting for a dinner out...

We (well, I) marveled at the lack of any sort of HIPPA laws as I noticed all the lab and test results waiting to go out to patients just sitting on the counter in the waiting room of a clinic...

My cuties and a friend joined me at the gym one evening...

Our little artist drew Simba from The Lion King...

Our little Jedi practicing some spelling words...

The kids brought home some school work the other day in their Art books. They were supposed to draw themselves...

LOVE!!!

Playing with a buddy...

October in Kuwait is beautiful. It's usually in the high 90's, and almost always has a light breeze. The kids and I have been trying to get outside as much as our schedule allows...

And of course, I got sick. I lost three days to fevery, sinusesy haze.
I finally drug myself to the doctor and was diagnosed with a sinus infection.

I blame all the preschool and kindergartners I spent my days with now. They are little sneeze factories.

The doctor gave me antibiotics...

...that were clearly meant for horses...

The horse pills did the trick, and I was back to normal health soon after.
Which was good, because we had a fun birthday party to attend...

So grateful we were all healthy enough to celebrate our sweet friend.

That's life lately around here!

She's crafty

Actually, I'm not really.

But thanks to Pinterest, I can pretend to be =)

I was feeling like our apartment needed some Fall/Halloween decorations, but they are non existent here in Kuwait.
Actually, that's not entirely true.
I did see some small (like 8 inch) true orange pumpkins at Sultan Center the other day, for nine KD ( nearly $30)...um no thank you.

A quick Pinterest search for "kids Halloween crafts" yielded some ADORABLE options, and since I'm a sucker for any hand/foot print art projects where I can document just how big my kids were at this age, I landed on a fun one.

Sister is always up for a craft =).

This particular project suggests you take painters tape and lay it out on a canvas in the shape of a spider web. I couldn't find painters tape, so I thought I'd use a glue stick to stick cut up construction paper. It worked only okay...they don't really look like webs, and some paint leaked underneath the paper, but for the most part it was fine.

Sister painting her canvas orange...

After both kids painted their canvases and we let them dry, we pulled off the construction paper to reveal the webs.
Then we painted the kids hands black and pressed them down to make spiders, and
I enlisted David's help to press their white-painted foot down on the canvases to make the ghosts...

Once everything was dry (and the kids extremities were cleaned off), we made eyes and mouths for the spiders and glued them on, and then hung our finished products up on the wall...

Happy Halloween 2016 from Kuwait =)

Lately...

These two cuties had the best time making a gigantic mess setting up the entire living room as their play area...

Sister was playing in her room for the longest time the other day, and when I went in to see what she was up to, she told me she'd made a home for her dragons that she wanted to show me.
Getting ready for the reveal...

Ta-Da!
She'd cut furniture out of cups and trays!
So creative =)

We've done some swimming lately...

...and playing together...

And one evening they put on a costume show for Dave and I...

Including being a tiger and wolf who battle...

...and Jedi's who fight to the death...

Cute boy made a creation out of water balloons...

These two goofballs begged to sit inside the cart while we grocery shopped...

I took this cutie with me to run errands the other day...

We headed out to our friend's house for another group swim...

Brother playing basketball with his buddy...

Swimming with sweet friends has been one of our favorite parts of this year!

So very grateful for these friends!

The Lego Store in Avenues Mall had a free building event awhile back, and we knew that was something we couldn't miss!

The employees had groups of six children building a little Lego frog from a kit. You had ten minutes to follow the directions and get it built...

And in the end you got to take home the cute little Lego frog you'd made!

After our Lego fun, we grabbed some dinner and then wandered the mall a bit. We found a great bookstore (super rare around Kuwait!) and spent a long time in there...

The kids begged to buy books, and since David and I say No to books exactly never, we let them each pick out one to buy =).
