 Well as we all know now, 2020 went crazy fairly early in the year.

But even before COVID19 entered our lives, we had some hard times, including a memorial for a classmate and friend who had died tragically the month before. 

That was a difficult thing to watch our kids walk through, and the memories kinda fill up early January for me. 

I don't love to blog about horrible things, but, I also want this "scrapbook" of our life to be real. 

Winter in the Pacific NW is often cold and grey, so we made good use of the garage over the endless cold days by pulling the cars out and letting the kids - and dog- play...

January brought a slight dusting of snow!

Both kids played winter futsal...

Feb 2020

The boy playing tennis with a strainer...because of course =)

We were a house divided for the Superbowl...

We went to see the Harlem Globetrotters, a bucket list item for me! 

The twins got to high-five some of the players after halftime...

That was a really fun night, and I'm so glad we went! 

We found some sunshine one afternoon...

February included a late night trip to the emergency room and at home recovery for this cutie, who loved snuggling up with her pup...

Both kids played Basketball over the Winter. Second year for Brother and first year for Sister. They both really enjoyed it, and we're happy to cheer them on...

March 2020

Cousin fun while gathering to celebrate Papa's birthday...

The twins had their fourth grade music program...

We celebrated my birthday, and this was by far my strangest birthday yet. It felt like COVID19 was bearing down right on us, and I was anxious mess. All day long, people would wish me a happy birthday, and I would reply "huh? Oh, yeah...thanks...hey, have you seen what's happening over in Italy right now??"

We had dinner and treats at home, and I did my best to focus on being grateful to be entering the last year of my thirties alongside such cuties =)

Right after my birthday everything shut down and we began quarantine. All sports games and practices were "put on hold", school was put "on extended spring break", and we hunkered down at home...

Fun Dad brought out some mattresses for jumping...

We did our best to get outside and enjoy fresh air whenever we could...

Lots of coloring has occurred...

Legos and Kindles on repeat over here...

Meanwhile, the store shelves looked like this:

...which felt surreal.

The twins turned ten in the end of March. 

TEN.

It's crazy.

This was the first year they requested separate birthday parties, and we were on board to make that happen...right up until everything closed up for quarantine. We obviously had to cancel their parties, but we did our best to make the day special at home with our little family.

Tradition dictates I get a picture with my babies the night before they turn another year older.

(Brother is clearly a huge fan of this tradition) 

And then they were TEN!

Gotta see how tall they've grown!

We were fortunate to be able to chat with lots of family over Skype, and even Astrid joined in on some calls...

This game was a birthday gift from some aunts and uncles, and we have had so much fun playing it! 

It was a strange birthday, but a good one none the less. 

Very thankful we were able to celebrate happy, healthy ten year old twins.
