Forever ago - in early April, while Dave's parents were here and the kids and I were still on spring break from school/work - we had a birthday party to celebrate the twins' seventh birthday.
SEVEN.
MY BABIES ARE SEVEN.
I KNOW. I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT EITHER.
I digress.
There was a party.
And this little unicorn was ready to celebrate from the moment she woke up...

We held their party this year the same place as we did last year, at Anjafa Beach.
We set up some balloons (it wasn't crazy windy like last year - thank goodness!) had some cake, some appetizers, a pinata, some gift bags, and called it a party =)
The party took place over the Spring Break for the kids' school, so I was nervous many of their classmates would be traveling and unable to attend, but we were pleasantly surprised by how many came!
And of course we had our homeschooling buddies there too =)
The twins felt so loved.
(Sister selected her new dress, and then socks and running shoes. Her birthday party = her pick ;) )
Two of Brother's best buddies from school...
David held the pinata out away from him with a broom. Ghetto, slightly dangerous, but sometimes that's how we roll...
...collecting goods from the cracked pinata...
SEVEN!!!!!
(Sister is anti-sunglasses, pro-squinting these days)
Both kids decided to be sung to in Arabic this year =)...
Let Them Eat Cake...
Words can not express how grateful I am for the friends I've made here in Kuwait. Before we moved here, I prayed God would bring my kids wonderful, kind, friends with mommas I could relate to and get along with, and that prayer was answered abundantly...
We past out gift bags filled with candy and cheap little trinket toys, because that's what you do at a children's birthday party...
The twins insisted we invite our sweet friend (and previous taxi driver) Hussein, and of course he stopped by and brought presents for both the kids...
The kids all ran around and played, sat around and talked, ate candy, and just had fun being together...
David and I were both just so thankful for all the wonderful friends that came out and celebrated with us...
It ended up being a really great party.
We came home and opened presents...
Gaga helped Brother sort out some of the tricks he could do with his new Magic Set...
This is Sister - wearing the new dress Gaga brought her for her birthday that she LOVES - and I playing "Who's There?" which was a new game they got for their birthday...
The kids were gifted some really great things, and we've had a lot of fun playing with them all.
It was our last birthday party in Kuwait, and it was a wonderful one!
