Lately...

WE'VE BEEN DOING STUFF!!

OUTSIDE OF THE APARTMENT!!!

WITH OTHER PEOPLE!!!

YES I'M STILL TIRED!!

BUT I HAVE PICTURES OF US DOING MORE THAN LAYING AROUND THE APARTMENT!!!!!

I know, I'm happy about it too.

The Pink Eye is much better, in the beginning of the week, I was not quite at the point where I could wear my eye make-up again, so I still wore my shades when we went out because I'm too vain to be seen in public without eye make-up I want to hide any touches of the redness.

First up was a First Birthday Party for the son of a sweet coworker of David's. They held the party at Ruby Tuesday, in the banquet hall.
I didn't know what to expect going to a one year old's party over here, and had kinda prepped the twins that there *might* not be a ton for them to do...

I was SO wrong!

There were a handful of older kids there, and plenty to do! First they all played Musical Chairs...

Then there was Face Painting...

Then a BOUNCY CASTLE out back...

Not a bad view while watching my kids bounce the sugar away...

Sister hanging over the edge...

Every child received a full entry of chicken fingers and fries, and there was a HUGE appetizer buffet for all the grown ups.

And then of course cake AND cupcakes...
 Sugar overload = CRAZY EYES!!

And then  back outside to blow bubbles from the gift bags each kid was handed...

It was seriously impressive!
I told Dave's coworkers who were there that they can expect the exact same things at the twins' birthday party later this month.

Except the opposite.

We'll likely put out a fruit platter and some chips and salsa, grab a cake, and host at a park.
Because we're cheap lazy minimalists like that.

Later in the week we met some of our favorite friends at this BEAUTIFUL beach and playground about a ten minute drive from our place.

I should have known it was going to be a well maintained area when our driver pointed out the Amir's Palace on the same block.

L driving the ship...

A and her lovie Wiley riding on the bikes-go-round with some other kids...

L climbing a different ship...

L and A digging for shells with their sweet friend E...

E's baby brother making a beeline to play with the big kids...

My boy seriously LOVES to be buried in the sand...

The kids made their way over the rocks and had so much fun exploring little pools they found over there. We came home with FAR TOO MANY shells and rocks that day, and a new rule was born: Only Two Items Per Child May Be Brought Home Each Beach Trip.
Ya know, so we make sure we still have room to walk around the apartment.

We are trying to soak up as much of the outdoors as we can right now! The weather is high 70's/low 80's, and just delightful out.

Another evening we met some friends for dinner at Buffalo's BBQ.  Yummy food, and super fun play area for the children to go nuts in while we waited for our food to arrive...

These four kiddos dragged these teeter-totter things up to the second level, and then sent them down the slide. They are trouble creative when they get together!
Whatever. There weren't any other kids in the play area, so we kind of let them do whatever they wanted...

And then it was time to eat!

...and the play area was so fun, we were able to bribe motivate the kids to be on their best behavior during dinner, with the promise of more playing time after =).
Definitely will be going back to that restaurant!

  1. Thanks for the delightful update on Hoffman Life. Seems so much more fun, than some of the health nightmare's you have endured. One photo of Abbey, early face-painting, reminded me of Auntie Natalie. So glad to know ya'll are feeling better. LOVE, GRAND DAD
