Lately...

Our sweet friends sent some gifts along with my in-laws, including UNO!
Since we opened it, we've been playing lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of UNO =)

Silly boy...

BabyGirl LOVES to help in the kitchen!
I hope she always wants to hang out in there with me =).
On this particular morning, we were working on the art of flipping pancakes...

Brother made himself a lounge area on his floor with all his favorite things surrounding him. He likes to be cozy.
A boy after my own heart =).

We went to a "Crazy Hair Party" at a friends house...

The boy had Spiderman hair with cotton balls spread out over gel, and Spiderman himself lodged in there, and the girl had 1,482 clips in hers ;)

Even Momma got in on the crazy hair fun...channeling my inner Pippy Longstocking ;)

Close up of A's hair...

This crazy hair party included some dancing...

...and origami...

Brother getting comfy at City Center while Sister tried to decide how to spend her birthday money...

Sister gettin' her craft on! This is a homemade kite...

These kids crack us up...

Just like in my belly...

A morning walk to play at the park by the ocean for a bit...

I took this picture because I want to always remember our tiny kitchen here in Kuwait. On this particular afternoon, I was making a lasagna for a friend who just had a baby, blueberry pancakes and eggs for dinner for our family, and cookies to send along with the lasagna. I had every  inch of that counter in use, was chopping spinach on top of the dryer, and had cookies cooling on the floor.
And to think, when Bahrain Tina came over, she was actually jealous of my counter space, as she has even less!

Milestone moment in this house!! The boy lost his first tooth!!!

More playing at the beach...

...and even more playing at the beach, with friends...

The kids and I walked down to the grocery store the other morning, and both asked if they could go in costume. Sure. Why not?
Brother was a Jedi, and Sister was a Veterinarian, carrying two lovey animals with her, naturally.

Even Stormtroopers have to chill out every once in awhile...

Sweet girl...

Mastering his Jedi moves...

Playing play-doh with the neighbors...

Sister made a rocket out of a box...

Playing with friends...

Sister and sweet baby T enjoying the view...

And lastly, David and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary yesterday, May 1st.
We had a sweet babysitter come over for a few hours, and we went out to a lovely dinner just the two of us...

(the beautiful shawl I'm wearing is a new gift from my friend Hatifa. She bought it in Palestine!)

We enjoyed a delicious meal - at The Cheesecake Factory! - with a gorgeous seaside view...

If you would have told me 12 years ago that we'd be celebrating our anniversary on the coast of the Persian Gulf - where we were currently living - I doubt I would have believed you!
Never boring.
Thanks be to God.

  1. Happy Anniversary again! Glad you guys got to celebrate a little. And that shawl is gorgeous.

Also, yes, Bahrain Tina is still jealous of your counter space. And of your oven with temperature settings beyond little flame or big flame. ;) Which reminds me--what brand is your stove/oven? I think we'll buy an electric one at some point soon, as I don't think I can go on like this for much longer. :)

    1. Ok so I checked...and our stove/oven is BRANDLESS. It's true, I've checked it over several times, looking for any indication of a brand. This shouldn't surprise us, because...wait for it...KUWAIT. ;)

    2. Haha. So not surprised! But, wait, I have a better story.

We finally found an electric stove/oven that would fit in our kitchen. It was really fancy, too. But we decided to spend the money nonetheless. Ordered it. It was delivered on Saturday. But it turned out that it was too big for the slot in our kitchen. The Xcite website said the measurements were 60x60, but they were actually more like 64/5. Because (let's say it together)....wait for it...Kuwait. :) Yeah, we sent it right back, are now waiting for a refund, and are back to our original plan of buying a small electric oven instead of the whole stove/oven thing. What can you do....

    3. Can I just say how it makes me smile that Tina is still "Bahrain Tina"? You are so blessed Kendra with truly AMAZING friends.
