See these marble stairs?
I fell down them.

Like an uncoordinated buffoon.

The twins and I were heading out to meet our friends for a ride to TBall practice, and our doorman was outside washing cars in the parking lot.

Turns out, he had just watered the stairs.
And left them soaking.
I took one step, and proceeded to slip down the remaining five, bruising my legs, elbow, butt and back.

To say I was furious would be a serious understatement.

I managed to get up, and turned to the twins who were still inside the lobby (Thank God - they could have cracked their skulls on those stairs had they been the ones to fall!)  and told them we needed to go back upstairs so I could change into dry clothes.

The doorman followed me inside, looking sheepish, and tried to insist I sit down on the couches in the lobby for a minute.

I refused, trying to explain that my clothes were drenched and I needed to change them.

But his English is limited, as is my Arabic, so it was a futile conversation.

Probably for the best, as I was SO DAMN ANGRY.

I mean, who does that?!?! Who just completely soaks a set of black marble stairs, and leaves them like that so that unsuspecting people can fall down them!?
In the States, there would be a "Caution" sign, or something.
There would be SOME sort of warning to heed.

But, as we've previously discussed, liability is not a thing here.

It makes me CRAZY.

But, at the end of the day, what can you do? You can fume and curse and make a big stink...and nothing will come from it and nothing will change. So, you just throw your hands up.

Because KUWAIT.

Anyways.

On to happier things =).

Like my little Peanut in a cozy blanket burrito...

...and my sweet boy "cleaning" the playroom...

I watched our neighbors three year old for a few hours the other day, and the kids all had so much fun playing together. I posed this sweet picture on Facebook...
...looks like they're having fun, right? Well, they were. Here is more evidence of their fun...
Twinadoes + 1 touched down in our living room.

We had some other friends over later that evening. Our boy and little S had fun playing with the dress up clothes...

We're always happy when Daddy comes home!
David has two long days each week and three shorter ones. Lucky for all of us, one of his shorter days is Thursday - the beginning of the weekends here in Kuwait! He's usually home around 2pm those days (he leaves the house around 6am) and we LOVE getting an early start to the weekend. He's almost always got a giant stack of papers to grade, but such is life as an English teacher ;).

Friday mornings mean TBall games around here, and this morning we had an 8:30am game.

Luckily, there's coffee...

...and cuties...

...and so much fun!

We've got some fun things planned for the rest of the weekend as well, assuming I can stay unbroken ;).

  1. Sweet photos (except the one with the stupid stairs)! Hope you are healing nicely and not in too much pain.

And, yes, please stay unbroken and enjoy your weekend!

  3. Kendra and Kuwaiti culture -- sort of a love-hate relationship. I don't think it's really out to get you; just sort of determined to broaden your horizons as it bruises your body. You are SO going to enjoy your flight home when that time finally arrives. Hope the rest of your adventure goes more healthily (if that's a word). Loved the t-ball pictures.

    Love, Aunt Carol
