Last week David's parents were here!
We were all SO excited to have them come visit.
While life here is starting to settle into a "normal" and feel more and more like home, there is nothing like time with family to really make a place feel like home.
The kids made Papa and Gaga signs to welcome them...
I ADORE little kid writing...
They arrived late in the night, and we were up bright and early for a Tball game the next morning...
Our little Dodgers...
We learned why the baseball season ends in the Spring around these parts...Sister just sat down and started playing in the sand at one point because it was "too hot"...
It was our snack day, and we brought birthday cake to celebrate the twins' birthday!
We pointed out the landmark of the Kuwait Watertowers to Dave's parents on the drive home...
That afternoon we all just took it easy...
....and that evening we introduced them to our favorite shawrma dinner, and the grown ups stayed up late catching up chatting, and admiring the view...
It was so fun to be able to chat in person. We've Skyped some in the last seven months, but there is nothing like face to face!
We loved having them here - all of us did. The twins were thrilled and soaked up all the extra attention =). We felt so loved that they'd travel so far to come spend a week with us! My father in law was saying that when he called the "doggy daycare" to make a reservation for their dog, the person asked where they were going on vacation, and when he answered back with "Kuwait", there was a long pause on the other end =). Not a top vacation destination for sure! ;) In fact, my mother in law was saying that they hadn't traveled outside the country since they went to Japan to visit family in 2005! We were honored we could be the next stamp in their passport =).
We had a fantastic week, and we took so many pictures that I'll have to break it up into a handful of blog posts. Someday, I'll turn this blog into a book, and I want to remember our time well.
So, more to come. For now, I'm gonna curl up with my man and watch some New Girl and laugh away the parents-are-gone-Spring-Break-is-over-David-has-to-go-back-to-work-tomorrow blues.
